AFC Urgent Care West Long Branch is now offering antibody testing through a blood draw known as SARS-CoV-2 AB. The test is able to detect if you have previously had COVID-19 with results available within 48 hours. Antibody testing is available seven days a week and requires a virtual visit prior to coming to our center to assess your symptoms and determine the right test for you.
Patients who have been asymptomatic for at least 14 days are eligible for antibody testing. Patients should be over the age of 10.

Patients should be over the age of 10 in order to recieve antibody testing at our urgent care center and COVID testing center in West Long Branch, NJ.
The COVID-19 molecular test is performed via a nasal swab and can detect the active virus and provide a current diagnosis. An antibody test is performed via a blood draw and detects whether there was a past infection in asymptomatic patients. A member of our staff will be able to call you within 48 hours with your results. Both tests require a virtual screening with one of our providers prior to your visit.
Regardless of your results, it is important to continue to follow local and state regulations regarding public health and safety, including wearing face coverings in public, practicing social distancing and washing your hands several times throughout the day.
A positive antibody test indicates that you have been exposed to the coronavirus. Because the virus was discovered so recently, much is yet to be determined, including whether or not you have any protection against further infection. Research is still being conducted to determine this information, which is why maintaining current health protocol is so important. A negative antibody test can indicate that you have not been exposed to the virus long enough to have developed an immune response to it, but may have been exposed within the previous 10 days. For more information on antibody testing, please visit the CDC website.

We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.
We're able to get many patients in and out in a matter of minutes, but the length of time you'll spend in our clinic will depend on wait times that day.
That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
